Having been both hands-on at the bench and with scientific project management, Morgane understands the ins and outs of customers doing research and providing scientific services. From how the technology works in specific applications to challenging set up of liquid handler processes and tuning in of complex assays, Morgane is making Artel’s technology understandable and accessible to all. ![]() Morgane’s mission is to enable customers and potential customers to quickly and easily understand how Artel’s technology can help them optimize their assay workflows by clearly communicating everything Artel. When not focusing on customer success or being corralled by colleagues into proofreading their documents (that’s what an inborn commitment to excellence gets you), Rosario brings joy to his friends and family in the form of cooking and opera singing. Newly part of the team, he is already making an indelible mark both in-house and with the users of Artel technology. By truly listening and understanding his constituents’ needs, Rosario is able to translate a technology’s value into measurable and sustainable benefits. ![]() He has spent his career bringing complex technologies to scientific and medical professionals and has found success through close engagement with customers. With a focus on ensuring that Artel delivers meaningful and measurable value to the company’s customers-whether that’s accelerating time to market, delivering cost savings, or driving intellectual property creation-Rosario approaches his role as Vice President of Business Development as one of partnership and collaboration. The Q&A article is available on the Clinical Lab Manager website. As more trainings are offered and available, more opportunities arise for laboratories to take part in them. Hentz states that, “With the assessments and documented records, you can go back and review and intervene as appropriate to help personnel maintain consistency over a long period of time”.Ī current trend in the laboratory market is an increased investment on training, and this is believed to be because laboratories are recognizing the importance of quality. Setting up a training and operator assessment program yields huge returns on investment to laboratories interested in ensuring accurate and consistent assay results. It is critical that the process for developing and perfecting pipetting technique be standardized, documented, and ongoing in order to ensure data quality. Pipetting skills are part of the foundation of all assay data and are one of the largest causes of variability. This Q&A discussion explored the hows and the whys of implementing a comprehensive training program. The article reveals that the benefits of operator training on the quality of assay data really moves training from a ‘should do’ to a ‘must do’. Nathaniel Hentz, Director of Scientific Market Development, both of Artel. ![]() Michelle Dotzert of Clinical Lab Manager magazine recently interviewed Doreen Rumery, Director QC Laboratory and Dr. ![]() That’s me up there.WESTBROOK, ME (July 23, 2021) – Laboratory managers know that pipette training is a ‘should do’ item that can easily get overlooked. Also, I’m managing a chemical lab, and I quite like the rather lame pun. Then I heard the term “based” on the interwebs, meaning ‘down to earth, commonsensical’, and that is exactly what I am trying to hit with this blog. I’m still learning, learning every day, and when I find something that might be useful, I write it up and put it up here.īecause it sounds good! I was experimenting with many titles and none sounded quite right. It is just that they don’t cover the basics of how to be a good lab manager. These are both good publications, mind, and I read each issue cover to cover. Resources like The Journal of Chemical Health and Safety are technical (and paywall protected!) while Lab Manager magazine has more of a technical, popular science slant. When I switched from the postdoc route to the lab manager route, I was staggered by how little stuff there is on managing a lab day to day.
